It all started when…

The Ask: Professional Photographers Joel & Jess wanted to stand out in a saturated wedding photographer industry.

The Problem: Competitive research revealed that, while Joel & Jess provided top quality work, prospective audiences had a hard time differentiating them solely based on their beautiful imagery as their brand recognition and positioning in the market were not well known. Further, the Joel & Jess Photography brand felt overly reserved and at odds with the warm and engaging personalities of the pair.

The Solution: A brand strategy revamp that communicated that Joel + Jess would = MORE for discerning couples looking to feel personally connected with their photographers while maximizing their photographic return on investment. Greater emphasis was placed on the consultation process and establishing an inviting brand personality in order to maximize conversions when meeting with prospective couples. This was imagined as a pancake breakfast in-home consultation for the Emotive Brand Film we created. To spark a connection with the prospective audience, a film script drawing on the love story between Joel & Jess and juxtaposing it with mirrored images of their client’s love story allowed us to create a sense of unity and understanding between our audience and the client.
